Hundreds of stories have been told to explain the phenomenon of the Lunar Eclipse.  In our tale, Ehlua, the Goddess of the night, hangs the moon in the sky each night to trigger the beautiful dreams of people of Earth.  Erebo, her brother, the king of Darkness, lives in the world of shadows, and is incapable of dreaming.  One day Erebo, desperate to dream, ventures to the world of the humans and decides to steal the moon.  In his despair, he end ups breaking the moon into a thousand pieces, engendering nightmares where there once were dreams.  In the end, he realizes what he has done, and returns the last piece of the moon to Ehlua, who restores the moon to it’s rightful place in the sky
